As content humans, we tend to spend a lot of time talking about error messages. But once we come up with a good message, how can we use that solution somewhere else?

Enter: error message templates.

By turning some of your common errors into templates, you can make your products more consistent and save your team a little time. We’re not advocating for generic error messages. Rather, templates you can follow based on the scenario or component.

In this talk, we’ll look at specific activities you can do with your team and how you start making reusable errors.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How you can use error templates in your organization.
  • What workshop activities you can do with your team or stakeholders.
  • What your final product error templates might look like.
