We talk a lot about the value of content design … but what about the cost?
Entry and participation into the discipline rely on access to a specific set of tools. For a team based in a high-income country, the price of tooling is usually negligible — but what about for those with limited (or no) budget to pay for them? What if the tools aren’t in your language? What if they’re too heavy for your country or region’s average Internet speeds?
Our discipline doesn’t have to be a walled garden. As content designers, our skills and talents truly transcend tools, platforms, and operating systems.
