Whether you’ve been writing for a year or a decade, you’ll have found yourself in a situation where you’ve had to defend your work—be that from other designers, an overbearing stakeholder, a finicky legal team, or your own self-doubt.

Because of this, we, as writers, can be reluctant to show our work. The process can leave us downtrodden and brow-beaten. But it needn’t be that way.

You can inspire your team to share without despair, and create inclusive, progressive spaces. And rather than strive to get feedback, create a team culture that’s completely open and welcoming of it.

In this session, we’ll talk about the value of crits and how you can:

  • Create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming space for writers to share their work.
  • Encourage team members to seek out and welcome feedback.
  • Leave doubt at the door (or virtual lobby) and become crit confident.
