Whether you join us in Seattle or online, you’ll fully be a part of all the action. We can’t wait to see you there.
No attendee left behind! The main challenge of any hybrid event is to prevent remote attendees from feeling like they’re watching all the action from the outside looking in. That’s why we’re designing the Button hybrid experience to be platform-agnostic and people-centered—here’s how that will look.
Our single track program will be broadcast live from Seattle every day, 8:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The show will have a distinctly “talk show” vibe—you’ll be a part of our in-studio or at-home audience! While in-person attendees are on break or at lunch, the live broadcast will continue for remote attendees with additional programming and fun.
While virtual attendees are watching our main-stage program via live broadcast, they’ll be chatting with friends in Seattle in the Button Slack workspace. Browse dozens of Slack channels to connect with other attendees about shared topics of interest, identities, and activities.
Once we sign off from the live broadcast, in-person breakout sessions and activities will continue between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Then get ready for fun times every evening, including the Button all-conference party October 11 at Expedia headquarters!
Both before and after the live broadcast, virtual attendees can attend speaker-hosted watch parties and small-group discussions happening on Zoom. And when Seattle attendees are on a coffee break or eating lunch, the live broadcast will continue for virtual attendees with special programming and a few fun surprises.
Enjoy hours of pre-recorded talks before and during the event—after the event, we’ll add recordings of our live broadcasts.
Kristina is our emcee for the main-stage program in Seattle, to be broadcast live to our virtual audience. Expect Kristina to operate like a talk show host—we’re even building her a desk to sit behind! She’s the executive producer of Button, the host of The Content Strategy Podcast, and the founder of Brain Traffic, a content strategy services and events company. Watch for Kristina’s custom taco jewelry. She’ll explain later.
Keri is our live broadcast host. She’ll welcome our virtual attendees each day and kick things over to Kristina when it’s time for the main-stage program to begin. She’ll also keep you informed about when watch parties are happening, welcome DJ Jason to the screen, and welcome a few surprise guests throughout each day. Keri leads the content design team at LinkedIn. You can usually find her on Twitter as @clamhead, but if she’s not there, check the line for Space Mountain.
