Leading like you: Finding ways to influence—the way only you can

Watch party:

Grand Ballroom I and II
Keynote

Live broadcast
On-demand library

What does leadership mean to you? The corporate world conflates it with management roles and high-ranking job titles, but the truth is, leading is about influencing other people and bringing them along. It’s a critical content skill, and it’s for everyone.

Being a leader starts with finding what works for you. It’s not about cookie-cutter ideas like “executive presence” or “visibility” that may not fit who you are. You can use things like trust, thoughtfulness, belief, and humility to win people over and change things for the better. Anyone can be a leader, but no one can lead like you.

In this session, you will:

  • See examples of how leadership skills are useful in every content role.
  • Find ways to expand your influence during common challenges, like being left out of early conversations or having your skills boxed in.
  • Recognize and celebrate the unique leadership qualities you (and others) bring to the table.
  • Learn how to advocate effectively for things that matter—like creating more equitable organizations and experiences—even when it feels like no one in upper management is asking for them.
