How to make any content team operating model work for you
Centralized or distributed? Embedded on one project or consulting on many? Office hours or no? Part of the broader design team or separate? Each kind of content team operating model has strengths and weaknesses. As content designers, we need to know what kinds of models are out there, so that we can ask the right questions when we’re job hunting and find ways to be successful once we are in the door. In this session, you will learn:
- Key characteristics of three content operating models—centralized, distributed, and solo
- The unique benefits and challenges of these three models for different participants (content team members, leaders, designers, partners, etc.)
- How to overcome your frustration and be successful, even if you hate your operating team’s model
- How to flip your perspective and become “operating model agnostic”
