Why we write: A love letter to content designers

As a kid, did you ever say, “When I grow up, I want to be a content designer?” Me neither. Yet, here we are: writing words on buttons and negotiating with engineers. But what’s at the heart of content work? What would we tell our kid selves about why we do what we do?

We use language to solve problems. We guide people to reach their goals. We help! This session is a celebration of the unique opportunity we have as content people. You’ll hear inspiring stories, learn powerful ways to describe your work, and leave with a refreshed perspective.

In this session, you’ll gain:

  • Key phrases you can use to show the breadth and impact of content design when describing your work
  • Inspiring stories about the power of clear communication and language design and how you can apply these methods yourself
  • Recognition for all the good work you are doing. Content is hard—and sometimes we need to look back at what we’ve accomplished as an industry.
  • A look at how our core skill set can transfer to many different professions including those in top-growing markets
