Design is obscenity

Good design: We know it when we see it. But it’s often hard to practice, or even define. Standards and conventions only tell one side of the story. What else can shape or influence it? And how can we create it, even as trends change so quickly?

We’ll look to the Supreme Court, French onion soup, and teapots to find out.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Recognize the different roles that design can play.
  • Understand how different organizations can create their own definitions of “good design."
  • Determine when “invisible design” works best.
